Huge congratulations to Liz Taylor who, last Friday, was presented with the 2015 SSE Champion at the Scottish Women in Sport’s second annual gala dinner at Hampden Park. Liz has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage Club Golf, establishing Prestonfield as the leader in this important enterprise for securing the future of our sport.
Supported by members of her coaching team the award was announced by Alison Walker, former BBC radio and television sports presenter and presented by Rosie Macrea, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at SSE. We commend Liz and all of her team. We really appreciate what you all do for our youngsters.
Jackie Davidson, Club Development Manager for Scottish Golf, said: “We are delighted that Scottish Women in Sport and SSE have recognised Liz as a Champion of women and girls in golf. Liz and her team have transformed the way young golfers are welcomed at Prestonfield Golf Club, and have worked hard with Active Schools and the wider community to introduce children to the game. Her energy is boundless and by also encouraging more women, including some of the Club Golf mums to take up the sport, she is a true champion of family golf and trail blazing the future direction of Scottish Golf.”
