There were many exciting games out on the course and none moreso than the final of the Bronze which saw crowds collecting to watch Corinne Blyth fight back from 2 down against Kirsty McEwing to make it all square as she won 12 & 13.

Kirsty then hit one of the shots of the day, a towering blow over the tree at 14 to 30 feet to go one up again.

Corinne fought back at 15 and the game went down 18.

Kirsty had an awkward 60 yard pitch over the bunker with Corinne already on the green in two. She hit it exquisitely to leave an uphill 10 foot putt. Corinne rolled her birdie putt across the hole but on the fast greens, it ran out a few feet past. Kirsty hit a great putt into the centre of the hole for a fantastic four leaving Corinne with a putt to take it up 19. Try as she may, Corinne unfortunately missed, as she gave her all “for the pensioners”.

A brilliant match from two great players.
