Good luck to all the players in the semi finals tonight. Among the ties sees Liz Taylor & Mollaidh Nicholson who were team mates in the inter club recently just going down to players who play for Scotland. Mollaidh’s form continues to bear fruits and she recently made the cut at the Stephen Gallagher trophy event at Cardrona, gaining her first Scottish Golf U-18’s Order of Merit points. She followed this up with a victory in the handicap event at the Scottish Schools Championships at Murrayshall where she finished 7th in the Scratch with a superb 78 in the second round, a great accomplishment for a 13 year old. Now she faces Liz in the Semi Finals in what should prove to be a very exciting match tonight.

In the 70’s, when I was a junior, there used to be 100’s flocking across the course watching the finals and whilst we dont expect that there seems to be a few more spectators expected this year.

Finals day nearest the hole challenge for supporters only – Caddies and referees may apply depending on how the games are going!

With 7 finals across the range of your fellow members, there’s bound to be someone worth supporting in the Finals on Saturday.

All supporters will be encouraged to bring a club with them when they are out on the course this Saturday as there will be a nearest the hole challenge at the 2 hole, par 3 course at the back of the 10th tee.

Details will be published tomorrow and you will be able to have multiple entries. If you were knocked out early or didn’t even qualify, don’t worry you could still join the Championship Presentation of Prizes!

Prizes may include a ticket in the evening draw for the big centenary prizes, so if you aren’t playing in a final come along and support the players and have a go. I’m sure some ingenious individual will ensure there will be a small refreshment or two available too.
